Making travel more accessible and creating a positive customer experience for people with disabilities is a key priority for Open Doors Organization and Airports Council International.

Registration is now open for the 6th Biennial Universal Access in Airports, hosted by Open Doors Organization and sponsored by United (Presenting Sponsor), Virgin America, San Francisco International Airport and Airports Council International.

UAIA 2016 will take place Monday, November 14 to Wednesday, November 16 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Francisco Airport South.

Registration is US$249. A one-day pass to the event is US$129.

Disability Sensitivity Training Course

Providing sensitivity training helps staff increase their knowledge, understanding and confidence on how to provide customer service to travellers with disabilities.

The ACI 
Disability Sensitivity course covers various methods of communication with people with hearing loss, vision loss, speech disabilities and cognitive disabilities, as well as those with service animals.

This course is organized into the following sections:

1. The disability market
2. Defining disability and types of disabilities
3. Appropriate language and customer service tips
4. Assessment
5. Resources
