Business is flourishing for Edinburgh Airport
Airport business operations profile

A study published last week has found that Edinburgh Airport is a booming GBP 1 billion (USD 1.42 billion) a year business, contributing greatly to the Scottish economy and supporting more than 23,000 jobs across the nation. The study predicts that in four years’ time Edinburgh Airport will be worth between 1.1 billion and 1.6 billion per annum and support 40,300 Scottish jobs.

Edinburgh Airport’s chief executive Gordon Dewar attributes the airport’s impressive economic growth to improved terminal infrastructure and new, direct international business connections to Scotland.

According to Dewar, Edinburgh Airport is working to ensure future business developments are approached with the guidance of the local council and the Scottish Government to “sustain the social and economic benefits of an airport that is Scotland’s principal gateway to the world.”
